How We Met
August 2017

One ordinary afternoon after school, I walked into the gym mid-conversation with a friend when I spotted a really cute guy in the mirror. Naturally, I asked, "Who's that?" and was told, "That's Biandré, he goes to our school." Unconvinced, I replied, "Jy praat 💩 man" but after some back-and-forth, I decided to find out for myself. I walked up to him and said the first thing that came to mind: "Hey, ek's Chenay, ekt nie geweet jy's in DF nie." The moment he turned around and our eyes met, I was hooked (I'm pretty sure we both were). We started chatting, laughing, and completely lost track of time—even he forgot he was in the middle of a workout. Before I left, I asked for his number (yes, I asked for his number!)—and just like that, the spark was lit.
Our First Date

Our love story officially began at our school's Valentine's Ball, where Biandré asked me to be his date. He picked me up, and though he claimed he couldn't dance, we spent the entire evening talking and laughing at our table, completely wrapped up in each other. As the night came to a close, he turned to me and asked, "Het jy darm die aand geniet?" I said yes, and asked him the same. Then, with a smile, he said, "Ja, maar daar is nog net een ding wat ek wou doen, wat ek nog nie gedoen het nie." Curious, I asked what that was, and he replied, "Ek wou jou nog vra of jy my meisie sal wees." I said yes, we shared a kiss, and heard his friends cheering in the background. It was the perfect beginning to everything that followed.
Engaged

I had been planning the proposal for a while — even going as far as researching which knee you're supposed to go down on. On the day, I told her we were going to look at cars, but instead I followed the road to Sardinia Bay. She was blissfully unaware, lost in the music and singing along, completely herself. When she finally noticed where we were, I played it cool and said I just wanted to stop there for a moment because the weather was so perfect. We got out, walked along the side of the dune (no way were we tackling that steep dune!), and found the most beautiful lookout point. She stood there with her blue-dyed hair in pigtails, blue heart earrings catching the light, completely radiant. As she turned away to take more photos of the view, my heart raced and I went down on one knee. When she turned back to show me a tiny dog on the beach below, I asked her to spend forever with me — and in that perfect moment, our forever began 💍
Getting Married

After keeping everyone on the edge of their seats for a full 8 years, we're finally getting married! We can't wait to say "I do" and celebrate this next chapter surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.

Wishing Well
We are fortunate enough to already have everything we need — our cupboards are stocked, our bed is comfy, and we really don't need another toaster or set of mugs.
What we do want are memories, laughs, and adventures together.
So instead of more "stuff", we'd be thrilled if you contributed to our honeymoon in December and our future adventures. Your contribution will go toward experiences we'll treasure forever (and maybe a few questionable travel decisions along the way!)
Either way, having you with us to celebrate is truly the best gift of all.
